Richard A. Harrison - Bio

Richard A. Harrison started out as a driver and PA for Segue Music in 1986, back when music was still being cut on magnetic film. Most projects had dozens of reels that had to be constantly carted from editing rooms to scoring and dubbing stages. He was also tasked with cataloging and organizing the vast Segue music library. Rich grew to be a great asset to the company, memorizing and listening to thousands of scores in many different genres. Whenever a crewmember was preparing for temp tracking, Rich lent a hand in locating the appropriate music.

As the industry was rapidly evolving with video and digital technology, Rich was constantly re-tooling the editing rooms with the newest equipment. He learned the editing facility from the inside out and ended up working with and learning the craft from the top editors in town. He joined the editors’ guild in 1991, starting out as an apprentice and was soon after editing his own shows. Through the years, Rich has worked on almost every type of movie genre, earning him multiple MPSE Golden Reel nominations. His passion for his work is seen in his commitment and dedication to each and every project. His expertise is his ability to give a film the emotional content that its filmmakers envision.
